Running a TikTok prize draw nobody can dispute

On TikTok more than anywhere else, a giveaway plays out in hours. The video runs, comments pile up, and the draw happens straight after — often the same evening. That speed is exactly what makes the result hard to defend: nobody has time to check anything, and nothing is set up so that they could.

A video scrolling through handles proves nothing. It can be reshot as often as you like, and the edit does not show. “It’s rigged” in the comments is not envy: it states that no verification is possible.

What DrawSeal does not do: read your TikTok comments

Let us be clear from the start: DrawSeal does not connect to TikTok and does not collect the comments on a video. The technical access it offers outside tools is not stable, and a tool built on it depends on access that can vanish overnight — often on the day of your draw.

So you have two methods, and the choice has real consequences.

Method 1 — the link in bio

You create the giveaway, you get a public page, and you put its address in your bio. TikTok allows only one link, so that is the constraint to plan for: it becomes the giveaway’s link for as long as it runs. Entrants sign up themselves with double opt-in — they get a confirmation email and must click.

This is the sturdier method. It leaves you a consented list, the date and time of each entry, and filtering applied before the draw.

Method 2 — the list you bring

If you insist on drawing from the comments, you export the list yourself and import it as CSV: one address per line, in the first column. Those addresses are imported as already confirmed — which assumes the list is yours and consent was obtained. That is not a checkbox, it is your responsibility as organiser.

Duet, stitch, video reply: verified or declared

TikTok has entry formats of its own — duetting the video, stitching it, replying with a sound. They are excellent for reach, and impossible to verify automatically: none of those actions reaches us.

Our rule is simple and holds everywhere: what cannot be verified is declared, and said to be declared. You may perfectly well require a duet to enter, and check it yourself before handing over the prize. What the draw guarantees is that among those admitted, the selection is honest — not that each of them did what they said.

The filters applied before the draw

An honest draw starts before the draw. The anti-fraud rules are public, known in advance and the same for everyone; they apply before the list is sealed:

• double opt-in required: an address never confirmed does not enter;
• disposable domains excluded, the ones created to multiply entries;
• de-duplication: one address counts once;
• per-IP cap: at most three entries from the same connection.

These rules remove entries before the computation, never after the result. That is the difference between filtering and arranging.

The 24 hours, and why they get in the way on TikTok

DrawSeal enforces at least 24 hours between publishing the commitment and the draw. On a platform where everything plays out in one evening, that is a real constraint, and we will not pretend otherwise.

It exists because a commitment made ten minutes before the draw proves very little: the delay is what makes it public before anyone could know the outcome. In practice it means announcing the day before and drawing the next day — which, incidentally, gives the video time to travel.

After the draw: the proof, and the video

The draw produces a public page carrying the commitment published before, the secret number revealed after, and the result. Anyone can recompute it with no account and without asking us. A shareable draw video is generated straight after — that is what you post.
